ACCOMPLISHMENTS Rufus Faulk is a lifelong resident of Roxbury. He is a graduate of Temple University, Boston University and is completing his Doctorate in Law and Policy at Northeastern University. For the last 12 years, Rufus has worked in our community as the Program Director of the Boston Ten Point Coalition. He developed partnerships with over 100 community based organizations, elected officials, clergy, city departments and state agencies. As our next City Councilor, Rufus will bring these formed partnerships to City Hall. In 2017, Rufus has driven the following District 7 initiatives in partnership with... •Boston City Council President Michelle Wu for the “Raise our Youth” initiative to raise funds for youth summer jobs. • Rep. Chynah Tyler to create the “Summer in Roxbury” initiative to provide safe recreation space at our parks for families. • Rep. Evandro Carvalho to organize a public safety meeting to address the impact of violence in our district. • City of Boston on a “School Supply Drive” to provide over 500 students with backpacks and school supplies. • Boston Public Schools to support a college tour of Temple University for our students. • Boston Police Department to ensure our of cers have the proper resources to support individuals experiencing trauma. • Northeastern University to develop a neighborhood-based trauma response protocol. • Rep. Chynah Tyler to advocate for Criminal Justice, Economic Development, Housing and Youth Development legislation.
